My favorite was The Young Martyr (1855) by Paul Delaroche. It was in the same room as the Mona Lisa, but everyone ignored it. I took a look at the Mona Lisa, just to say I did, and then spent my time with The Young Martyr. Gorgeous. I got a print of it (framed, in my kitchen) for 40 francs :)

Now they moved the Monna Lisa into another room, on its own.

I want to go back to the Louvre next time. I have been reading the Da Vinci Code and he set me in the mood. :o )

I'll take a look at the painting which attracted your attention.

It's almost impossible to find a good copy of it online to view. Many poster companies crop the painting so that only the woman in the water is framed. And the background is very dark, so it's hard to see the horseman on the horizon. Did he kill her? Is he coming upon her body in the water? That's the mystery, and you can't really see that detail from most poor scans. :(

It is the typical Ophelia's composition, but it is clear that she was murdered and did not commit suicide because she is tied. Plus the title is a young martyr. She has got also a halo to testify her santity. But martyr for what? Hopefully I will see it live soon.
